About Anthony Coulson
Anthony Coulson was born in Trinidad, Colorado in 1930. His family moved to California during the Great Depression and he grew up in Los Angeles, California. He spent two years in Japan as a member of General McArthur's Honor Guard. After the general was relieved of his command, Anthony fought in Korea. After he left the army he attended college. He received his bachelor's degree in Art from California State University at Los Angeles in 1955. His master's thesis was on Hokusai and the art of Ukiyo-e. He taught art in East Los Angeles for 34 years. His work has been shown in various shows in Los Angeles and Laguna Beach, California. He and his wife moved to Bandon, Oregon in 1996 and he continued to paint until he passed in 2012. He left a treasure trove of art for others to enjoy. Over 200 paintings and drawings have been digitized and will eventually be offered as cards and prints.
